The Fall of Icarus paintings, discuss how to answer an essay question (restate the question, 2-3 pieces of direct evidence, then explain how it supports the question).

Tuesday- Good Things, SSR, work time on D and I art

Wednesday, ROL, Caught Ya, work time on D and I art

Thursday -ROL, Caught Ya, punctuating dialogue review, and review Greek and Latin root words

Friday- Good Things, SSR, and Greek and Latin prefixes, finish notecards and review all 30

HOMEWORK:

Daedalus and Icarus is due by Friday

Silent read at home- 2 hours outside of class is due EVERY Monday

Monday -- ROL, Caught Ya, finish data folder work, Writer’s Notebook entry: write about a time when you didn’t listen and had to face a consequence for it

Tuesday -- Share good things, SSR, Read Daedalus and Icarus- write a paragraph about who was more at fault- Daedalus or Icarus- use direct evidence from the story

Wednesday -- ROL, Caught Ya, Punctuating Dialogue (Dixie and Vern), finish Daedalus and Icarus and review roots

Thursday- Good Things, SSR, 10 new Greek and Latin root words and work time on notecards

Friday -- ROL, Caught Ya, work on notecards and review, Writer's Notebook entry: what makes good art?, look at The Fall of Icarus paintings.

Monday- Read out loud, Caught ‘Ya, intro. to Greek and Latin root words and make note cards  

Tuesday-Share good news, silent reading, Greek gods/goddesses PowerPoint and fill in note sheet.  

Wednesday- SRI test and silent reading

Thursday- ROL, Caught Ya, Phaethon story with reading strategy- model (Direct and Indirect Evidence) and read together

Friday- Friday- Good Things, SSR, introduce data folders, and revise Phaethon with a group

Homework-
Monday- reading log due!! Finish Greek and Latin roots notecards
Silent reading at home- 2 hours every week
