Tuesday- Good News, SSR, finish revisions, review notecards
Wednesday- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, library visit, review complex sentences, essay writing pre-test
Thursday- Good News, SSR- find types of sentences in their silent reading book, Study notecards
Friday- SRI Test - Sentence test pushed back to next Tuesday


HOMEWORK:
Tuesday:  Finish revisions
Thursday:  Study and review flashcards for sentence test
EVERY DAY:  Read for 20 minutes outside of English class

Wednesday- Hand in myth final draft and all prewriting, Library, ROL, and museum (read each other's myths)
Thursday- Good News, SSR, complete sentences PowerPoint
Friday- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, complete sentences activities


HOMEWORK:  
TUESDAY:  Finish final draft (typed)- you’ll need to hand in the final draft, rough draft (with revisions), all pre-writing activities on myths- due Wednesday

Week of Oct. 13
Monday- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, hand back Roots/prefix Quiz, write a paragraph describing a main character in your myth.
Tuesday-Good News, SSR, students then will choose their best introduction and start writing the rough draft of their myth.
Wednesday- Library, ROL, Caught ‘Ya, and we will explain “exploding a moment” and keep working on their rough draft.
Thursday- Good News, SSR, work on a revision activity called “Scared Nutty,” and finishing touches to rough draft- make sure you have three sections of dialogue in your myth.
Friday- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, peer editing their myth, and work on revisions


HOMEWORK:
Read nightly- 20 minutes
Monday- character paragraph
Tuesday- work on rough draft, must be done and with you in class on Friday! *Be sure to include your exciting intro., setting paragraph, dialogue, character description(s), and So What paragraph.

Monday -- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, review word parts, and work on Theseus and the Minotaur summary boxes
Tuesday --  Good News, SSR, review word parts, read myth examples, discuss ideas for myths, hand out “Write Your Own Myth” intro sheet and start thinking of ideas
Wednesday -- ROL, Caught ‘Ya Quiz, Library Visit, share ideas about your own myth, write setting paragraph
Thursday-  Good News, review word parts, SSR  (EXPLORE testing in the morning)
Friday -- ROL, Caught’ Ya, Word Parts Quiz #1, Discussion of good leads/intros for their myth, write three intros and choose the best one.

HOMEWORK:
Monday--”Theseus and the Minotaur” summary boxes
Wednesday--Have idea for your own myth and myth planning sheet filled in
Thursday--Setting paragraph
Friday--Word Parts Quiz #1

Silent reading at home- goal should be at least 20 minutes a night!
