Tuesday- Good Things, SSR, Persephone and the Seasons and write POV journal- due Thursday

Wednesday- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, Greek and Latin affixes review

Thursday- Good Things, SSR, 10 Greek and Latin prefixes
*art students gone to Art Prize

Friday- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, and begin Theseus and the Minotaur summary boxes- 1 sentence summary and a picture for each paragraph of the story

Homework:

Tuesday and Wednesday- Persephone journal

Wednesday and Thursday- review Greek and Latin roots and affixes- quiz next Friday

Friday- Theseus due Tuesday

Students should also be reading their choice books at home!

Monday -- ROL (Read Out Loud), Caught ‘Ya, Review first set of root words, Introduce second set of root words, make index cards

Tuesday -- Share good news, SSR (silent, sustained reading), begin writing dialogue betweens gods and goddesses (10 facts for each god)

Wednesday -- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, review notecards and work on dialogue

Thursday -- Share good news, SSR (silent, sustained reading), and finish dialogues

Friday -- Present dialogues, ROL (Read Out Loud), Caught ‘Ya

HOMEWORK:

Monday- Thursday -- Work on Action Figure/Barbie- due Friday with dialogue

Monday -- ROL (Read Out Loud), Caught ‘Ya, review 10 Greek and Latin root words, “Pandora’s Box” with questions and essay

Tuesday -- Share Good News, time for SSR (silent, sustained reading), work time

Wednesday -- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, Practice article with reading strategies about a god--work through with teacher and students (cartoon, too), assign a god or goddess to each student and start marking and reading article.

Thursday -- Good News, SSR, continue reading and marking god/goddess article, take notes for dialogue and cartoon.

Friday -- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, Review root words, finish god/goddess article

HOMEWORK:

Tuesday- SRI test and silent reading

Wednesday- ROL, Caught Ya, Helios story with reading strategy- model and read together

Thursday- Share good things, The Story of Arachne with multiple choice and short answer question, SSR

Friday- ROL, Caught Ya, punctuating dialogue, go over The Story of Arachne questions and revise short answer. Discuss how to answer an essay question.

Homework- Silent reading at home and study Greek/Latin roots and affixes notecards
