Week of September 28
Monday -- ROL (Read Out Loud), Review two sets of root words, introduce third set of word parts (prefixes), do flash cards, work on finishing article on gods/goddesses, work on Action Figure.
Tuesday -- Share good news, SSR (silent, sustained reading), work on action figure
Wednesday -- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, review notecards, and finish Action Figure/Barbie.
Thursday -- Share good news, SSR (silent, sustained reading), and begin dialogues
Friday -- Work on dialogues- ROL (Read Out Loud), Caught ‘Ya

HOMEWORK:
Monday and Tuesday -- Work on Action Figure/Barbie
Every day- Review notecards and silent reading at home! :)

Monday -- ROL (Read Out Loud), Caught ‘Ya, review 10 Greek and Latin root words, “Pandora’s Box” with questions and essay
Tuesday -- Share Good News, time for SSR (silent, sustained reading), work time for “Pandora’s Box”
Wednesday -- Late Start Day!! ROL, Caught ‘Ya, Practice article (Meleager) with reading strategies about a god--work through with teacher and students (cartoon, too)
Thursday -- Good News, SSR, assign a god or goddess to each student and start marking and reading article, take notes for dialogue and cartoon, hand in Pandora's Box paragraph.
Friday -- ROL, Caught ‘Ya, Review root words, finish god/goddess article

HOMEWORK:
Pandora’s Box is due Thursday
Silent read at home

Review your Greek and Latin roots and affixes

The Week of September 14, 2015

Monday- ROL (Read out loud), Caught Ya, Greek gods/goddesses PowerPoint and fill in note sheet.  

Tuesday- SRI test and silent reading

Wednesday- ROL, Caught Ya, Read myth about Phaethon with reading strategy of describing a main character and providing evidence from the myth to prove your point.

Thursday- Share good things, read "The Story of Arachne" with multiple choice and short answer questions, SSR

Friday- ROL, Caught Ya, review and practice punctuating dialogue, go over "The Story of Arachne" questions and revise short answers. Discuss how to answer an essay question.

Homework- Silent reading at home

The week of Sept. 8, 2015

Welcome Back! We (Mrs. Fuzak, Mrs. Malloch, and Ms. Naber) are excited for the new school year and to have you in our classes! Here's the place to find the weekly agenda and homework for seventh grade English.

Monday- Labor Day

Tuesday- Seating Charts, Expectations, Syllabus, Autograph Party, explain “I” poster (fill up the poster with a minimum of 25 words- nouns, verbs, etc.) **Bring a spiral bound notebook for English!!
Wednesday- Read out loud (Crash), Library (get a 200-page book you have never read before), explain 40 book challenge, and work on “I” poster, student reading record
Thursday- Share good things, silent reading, write six-word memoir and tweet (140 characters or less)
Friday- Read out loud, start Word Nerd (Word Wall), Caught ‘Ya, intro. to Greek and Latin root words and make notecards

Homework-Tuesday- bring SSR book, get syllabus signed, and 
bring a spiral bound notebook by Thursday
Friday- Finish Greek and Latin root word notecards
