Monday- ROL, hand out vocab list #3, vocab. link- http://www.studystack.com/flashcard-1086200work on 10-12 with reading strategies
Tuesday- Good News, SSR, review vocab list #3, 10-12 due
Wednesday- ROL, Open Mind activity- comparing Parvana to Malala (or Nya or Salva), assign the end of the book 13-15
Thursday-  Good News, vocab. quiz #3, finish the book and work on final project
Friday- ROL, book club- celebration- bring in treats, drink hot chocolate, and discuss the book, work on final project.


HOMEWORK:
Mon-Wed.- review vocab.
Monday- read 10-12 and reading strategies
Thursday- finish the book
SSR- 2 hours outside of class (mixture of The Breadwinner and your choice book)

Monday- ROL, vocab quiz #1, work time on 4-6 (one pager)- discuss common themes, and hand out vocab list #2

Tuesday- SRI Testing (SSR, review vocab. and wrap up 4-6 when done)
Wednesday- ROL, review vocab., go over what is the Author’s Purpose (RL.7.6) from one pager and hand in, assign chapters 7-9 with summary boxes- one sentence summary with picture or 5 facts- use computer paper and divide into 4 boxes.
Thursday- Good Things, SSR, review vocab., and work time for The Breadwinner 7-9 and boxes due Friday
Friday- ROL, vocab. quiz #2, go over chap. 7-9, any questions/ fish bowl discussion

Homework-
Tuesday- finish 4-6 and one pager- due Wed.
Thursday- finish 7--9 and four boxes

Friday- ROL, review vocab., go over discussion questions in groups, any questions??- in group write down any questions you have with 1-3, assign 4-6- one pager for chapters 4-6 (1 for the 3 chapters) . Hand in

Wednesday- Library, ROL, finish Afghanistan notes, Deborah Ellis interview (with Shannon Skinner- first five minutes- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2AThCracxE) and article--activism and practice with quotes and paraphrasing
Thursday- Good News, SSR, finish quotes and paraphrasing practice, PowerPoint with pictures for chapters 1-3

Homework-
